n 1985 as BOBBY D was heading off to college, Ma came running out of the house screaming with a blender in her hand, “Yu needa dis to maka da sauce!"

As an Italian and first generation American, I learned the art of cooking and experienced the joy of food. Throughout my life, countless hours were spent chopping onions, peeling garlic and straining tomatoes, for the sole purpose of making my mother’s red sauce. Fortunately, I continued this tradition as an adult and have many fond memories simply enjoying a bowl of pasta with family and friends.

Little did I know that BOBBY D’s™ would be founded when divorce and health issues struck a dear friend of mine. The small gesture of sending sauce to comfort him and his family resulted in a company whose mission is quite simple: “Produce the finest Italian red sauce in a jar for people who recognize the importance of family and friends, appreciate quality food and value the benefits of living, not eating.”

Enjoy our sauces in good health and embrace many of the lost traditions that are the essence of BOBBY D’s.
